Case study · River City Veterinary Relief Services

We built the business in two weeks. A week later, we had to add a high-demand notice.

River City Veterinary Relief Services was a brand-new business starting from scratch. Dr. Emily Johns had the experience, the clinical range and the local reputation. What she didn’t have yet was a brand or digital presence that captured any of it.

So we built one. In two weeks, River City went from an idea to a fully launched brand, custom website, search foundation, content process and marketing automation. One week after going live, we updated the site to tell prospective clients she was already booking 8 to 12 weeks in advance.

The challenge

A brand-new business with a lot to say.

River City was new. Emily wasn’t.

She brought years of veterinary experience and an unusually broad clinical skill set spanning small and large animal medicine, exotics, surgery, emergency care and relief work.

She also brought something harder to capture in a list of credentials. Her. Emily is local. She’s approachable. She’s experienced enough to walk into a practice, understand what needs to happen and become part of the team. That mattered.

River City couldn’t look like another veterinary staffing company, and a nice-looking template was never going to be enough. The brand had to represent Jacksonville, Emily’s personality and the breadth of experience she brought to the practices hiring her.

When someone found River City online, they needed to understand a few things very quickly.

  1. Who is Emily?
  2. What can she handle?
  3. Does she understand my practice?
  4. Can I trust her with my patients and my team?
  5. How do I book her?

Everything else could wait.

The strategy

Market Emily.

The easiest approach would have been a polished veterinary website with a list of services. We didn’t want that.

River City’s biggest differentiator was already there. It was the person behind the business.

  • Emily’s Jacksonville roots mattered.
  • Her range of veterinary experience mattered.
  • Her ability to work across very different cases mattered.

And her approach to relief work felt much more like bringing in a trusted colleague than hiring someone to fill an empty shift.

So those became the foundation of the brand. We built the visual identity, messaging and website around what was already compelling about River City. The goal was simple. Make the online business feel like the real one.

What we built

From idea to ready for business in two weeks.

Brand strategy and identity

A visual and verbal identity built around the business Emily wanted to run. Local, capable, personal and unmistakably hers. Professional without becoming corporate, and warm without sliding into the predictable cute pet brand look.

Logo design

A custom logo and visual system that can grow with the business across the website, digital marketing and future materials.

Custom website

Designed and developed from the ground up, around what a practice needs to know before trusting Emily to walk through its doors. Her experience, capabilities, local connection, approach, availability and a clear way to get in touch.

Search foundation

Search was part of the plan from day one. Site structure, service content, local relevance and technical foundations help search engines understand who River City is, what Emily does and where she works.

SEO content process

A new website needs somewhere to go next. We set up a repeatable blog and SEO process based on the questions, services and searches of River City’s audience, and every article has a job to do.

Marketing automation

Inquiry and follow-up automation moves new opportunities forward without Emily managing every step while she runs the business and cares for patients. The technology stays behind the scenes, and the experience stays simple.

The result

One week after launch, we had to change the website.

River City went live. Then the inquiries started coming in. Within seven days there was already a new problem to solve. Too much demand.

Emily’s availability was being pushed weeks into the future, so we went back into the brand-new website and added something we hadn’t expected to need quite so quickly.

River City didn’t have years of website traffic, an established domain, hundreds of articles or a long-standing digital brand. It had been online for a week. What it did have was a strong business, an experienced founder and a digital presence designed to communicate both clearly.

What made it work

What made River City worth choosing was already there.

Emily had the experience, the range, the Jacksonville connection and a way of working that practices responded to.

Our job was to recognize those things, translate them into a brand and make sure the people looking for someone like Emily could see them. Then we built the website, search foundation, content process and marketing systems to support it.

Good marketing makes sure people can see what already makes a business special.

“So much good feedback. Everyone has said your website skills are amazing. The website has been a success, although now I’m turning everyone away because I’m booked!”
